Royston's Hygge Inspired Preschool

We aim to provide your child with the best possible start to their early years education, helping them to fulfil their potential in a healthy, safe and stimulating environment where children know they are valued and respected and they can develop into independent, confident individuals.
Our setting is where children are encouraged to be curious, explore, blossom, grow and learn in a safe and loving environment. We believe in child-led learning through play and nature and encourage children to be the masters of their own curriculum and follow their lead and interests.
We are based on the Icknield Walk First School site in Royston, Hertfordshire. We have our own room with access to a lovely garden and nature space. Our building and garden has disabled access.
Children can join us from their 2nd Birthday and stay until they start at a school nursery.
Little Acorns has a Hygge in the Early years Accreditation
We are lucky to be studying towards a Hygge accreditation. This means many things to us, including being on a journey as a team to create and improve our own special approach to early years.
The accreditation is leading us through reflection of what we do and how we can enhance this. We work on being a mindful team and how best to bring the Hygge approach into our Acorns rooms.

The benefits
Educational, psychological, and sociological influences are important factors to consider in understanding children and working to stimulate learning in appropriate ways. Hygge teachers employ strategies such as exposing children to a wide variety of:
Self-expression
Communication
Logical thinking
Problem Solving
Early Years Foundation
Little Acorns uses these principles alongside the
Early Years Foundation Stage to support our children.
